The target participants of this program are the Heads of Schools, Academic Deans and Finance Managers of the member schools who need to develop their competencies as leaders of their institutions.
1. Conference for Heads of Schools
Since most of the theological faculty are trained as academic scholars, this conference will enable the appointed heads to:
a. know their leadership roles in understanding the system of governance of the school;
b. enhance their skill in managing the faculty and non-teaching staff; and,
c. identify different approaches to financial management including monitoring and control.
2. Conference for Academic Deans
Most deans have been appointed to lead the seminaries without much administrative experience. And they have expressed the need of continuing education on their role of exercising their delegated leadership and understanding the school’s system of governance.
With the increased competencies of the deans, member schools/ seminaries will be able to be strategic in their approach as an educational institution. The schools will become more stable and sustainable in the coming years and able to provide relevant educational services and leadership to the churches.
At the end of the conference, the deans will be able to:
- know their leadership roles in understanding the academic system and expectations of the school, including the responsibilities of the faculty, students, and others who participate in achieving the vision and purpose of the school;
- enhance their skill in managing the faculty and non-teaching staff that builds good relationships between the stakeholders and the seminary; and,
- identify different approaches to the development of curriculum and faculty.
3. Conference for Finance Managers
At the end of the conference, participants will be able to:
a. update themselves on the current financial challenges and opportunities faced by the seminaries in Asia;
b. identify the latest trends and best practices in Financial Management; and,
c. determine some major issues in Financial Planning and Analysis relevant to the theological institutions.
4. Conference for Women
The conference brings together Asian women educators and women in ministry with the hope that they will be able to:
a. articulate and share their theological reflections on various issues they have encountered in their respective ministries;
b. discuss pertinent Asian issues and theological responses from an Asian feminist perspective, and
c. create strategies to establish a network of Asian theologically trained women that encourage women leadership in Asia and a wider participation of women in this effort.
