Dr. Limuel Equina, Executive Director of ATESEA and Dr. H.S. Wilson, Executive Director of Foundation for Theological Education in South East Asia (FTESEA) visited Aglipay Central Theological Seminary (ACTS) in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan on March 31, 2019. They evaluated ACTS’ Clinical Pastoral Education – Community and Ecumenical based (CPE-CEb )program. Present in the assessment were Dr. Eleuterio Revollido, Rector of ACTS,  ACTS’ faculty, CPE facilitators, Ecumenical Theological Seminary Field Education coordinator of United Church of Christ in the Philippines, Supervisor-In-Training students, 3rd and 4th years seminarians of ACTS who have undergone the CPE in 2017 and 2018, Christian Home Institute for Learning and Development (CHILD)- Iglesia Filipina Independiente teachers, and agency representatives of Parole and Probation Office of Urdaneta and Urdaneta Emergency Hospital.

CPE-CEb is one of the many practical approaches of the seminary in the formation of ordained persons as men and women pastors and priests. It utilizes the clinical method of learning with prior consideration to the needs of the local people in the community to be ministered, helped and responded to. The program focuses on institutions in the community such as the jail, orphanage, rehabilitation center, school, hospital/clinic, industrial factory, and sectoral organizations of peasants, urban poor, laborers, youth, minorities and senior citizens. It emphasizes an interdisciplinary method with firm social engagement which makes the CPE-CEb approach acceptable and embraced by the partner seminaries and churches. ACTS CPE-CEb is also recognized by the Philippine Association of CPE Practitioners.
