2026 Annual General Meeting and Conference for Heads of Schools

The Association for Theological Education in Southeast Asia (ATESEA) begins the year by bringing together heads of schools or their officially designated representatives for the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference for Heads of Schools. This event will be held at the Thailand Baptist Theological Seminary (TBTS) in Bangkok, Thailand, from March 3 (arrival) to March 6 (departure).
The AGM will include institutional reports, updates, and the official welcoming of new ATESEA member institutions. The conference program will focus on pivotal themes and strategic directions for theological institutions over the forthcoming five years, featuring presentations by experts and leaders on the following topics:
“Enriching Faculty Competence and Leadership Capacity”
– Dr. Earl Jude Cleope, former Vice President for Academic Affairs, Silliman University, Philippines
“Institutional Sustainability and Innovation”
– Mr. Apicha Insuwan, President, Payap University, Chiang Mai, Thailand
“Collaborative Library Initiatives and Shared Resources in Asia”
– Dr. Pimphot Seelakate, Lecturer, Department of Library Science, Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand
“Cultivating Asian Theological Scholarship and Publishing”
– Prof. Kung Lap Yan, Editor, Asia Journal of Theology
“Building a Culture of Assessment and Quality Assurance”
– Prof. Robert Setio, Academic Dean, Faculty of Theology, Duta Wacana Christian University, Yogjakarta, Indonesia
The association is grateful to Thailand Baptist Theological Seminary (TBTS) and its leadership for their generous hospitality in accommodating this important assembly.
The event will also be held in a hybrid format, allowing those unable to attend onsite to participate online.
