ATESEA offers scholarship to new MLISTL students

ATESEA opens application for scholarship assistance to interested students who wish to enrol in the Master of Library and Information Science with Specialization in Theological Librarianship (MLISTL) for Academic Years 2017-2019. The program is offered by Central Philippine University (CPU) in Iloilo City, Philippines.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. Applicants must have completed a degree in theology or its equivalent.
2. Applicants without any theological degree but a graduate of any baccalaureate degree are required to take 21 units of theological courses.
3. Applicants must have at least 300 hours of library experience.
4. Applicants should demonstrate proficiency of the English language. If the medium of instruction in college/university previously attended is not English, applicants will be required to take an Intensive English course offered by CPU from May to June.

 

PROCEDURE. The applicant sends the following additional requirements for admission to CPU on or before October 30, 2016:

1. Photocopy of Transcript of Records
2. Recommendation from a school administrator or faculty
3. Three (3) pieces 2 X 2 pictures
4. Photocopy of Marriage Contract for married applicants.

 

Scanned copy of the documents must be sent to Ms. Cynthia Pelena, Coordinator, CPU MLIS Program at cynthiapelena@gmail.com. The  University will inform the applicant if he/she is accepted to the program on or before November 15, 2016.

If the applicant wishes to apply for scholarship assistance, he/she should write separately to ATESEA at equina.atesea@gmail.com and submit the following:

  1. Letter of Application; and
  2. Letter of Endorsement from Head of School.

The ATESEA scholarship grant will cover tuition and fees only to the qualified applicant for two academic years. The scholarship grant is limited to twelve (12) students.

The applicant admitted to the scholarship program will take care of his/her board and lodging expenses including transportation.

Deadline for submission of scholarship application is October 30, 2016. Qualified applicants shall be notified by ATESEA of the result on November 15, 2016.

Estimated cost of food and lodging excluding allowances for the whole program is USD 6,000.
