ATESEA-FTESEA leaders visit member school in Cambodia
Dr. Ngoei Foong Nghian (ATESEA Chairperson), Dr. Limuel Equina (ATESEA Executive Director), and Dr. H.S. Wilson (FTESEA Executive Secretary) visited Cambodia Methodist Bible School, a member school in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on April 21-23, 2016. They met with the Management Committee and lecturers of the school led by the principal, Rev. Vuthy Prak. The representatives of the schools shared the ongoing programs and plans with the ATESEA-FTESEA Team including their desire to upgrade the school’s academic degree program. Established by the Methodist Church in Korea in 2000, CMBS has been supported by the local churches and missionaries from Malaysia, Singapore, Korea, the Philippines and the General Board of Global Ministries.
The ATESEA-FTESEA team had the chance to visit a primary Methodist school, one of the top performing schools in the city. The school is supported and managed by local leaders and missionaries from Singapore.
The team concluded the visit in Phnom Penh by meeting with the principal, Rev. Vutty Son, of Phnom Penh Bible College and a quick tour of the campus.
Prior to the Phnom Penh trip, Dr. Wilson and Dr. Equina paid a visit to the member schools in Baguio City, Philippines on March 19-21, 2016. The visit paved the way for the discussion of current initiatives, challenges, and plans for the seminaries by the heads of schools and faculty members of the following schools: Ecumenical Theological Seminary, Lutheran Theological Seminary, Philippine Baptist Theological Seminary, and Asia Pacific Theological Seminary.
The ATESEA-FTESEA team visit is part of the program of FTESEA and ATESEA to meet with the leaders of schools and explore some possibilities of assisting them in addressing their special needs.
