2025 Doctoral Colloquium

One of the ATESEA’s programs in reinforcing faculty development and academic scholarship is the Doctoral Colloquium. The colloquium provides opportunities for doctoral students to engage with scholars both in Asia and the West, deepening their research in their fields of study. The program allows doctoral students to receive constructive criticism from experts to improve the quality of their dissertation.

Sixteen (16) doctoral students from ATESEA member schools will present the development of their dissertation writings. Respondents who are experts in their respective fields from North America and Asia were invited to review the research proposals.

It is the aim of the Colloquium that the participants will be able to:

  1. share the progress of their dissertation;
  2. receive feedback from the guest lecturers and fellow students on their thesis;
  3. strengthen the relationship with their fellow Asian scholars and guest lecturers.

ATESEA envisions that these doctoral students will be able to provide leadership for the seminary, churches, and community through the lens of contextual and transformative theology.

ATESEA appreciates the partnership with Duta Wacana Christian University, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, which will host this colloquium on June 24-26, 2025.

ONLINE attendance is open to those who are interested in joining and observing this academic theological exercise.
