2021 Online Teachers’ Academy

In view of the current challenges, ATESEA will conduct this year’s Annual Teachers’ Academy online on July 20-21 for the continual professional enrichment of the lecturers. This year’s Teachers’ Academy will focus on curriculum design, (educational) evaluation including rubrics design for online modalities.

We have invited Ms. Gloria Doherty, Director of Digital Learning from George Fox University, Portland Seminary, to be our guest lecturer for two sessions:

July 20 : “Program and Course Design for Learner Success”

In this session we will explore curricular and course design methods that organize learning in predictable patterns that support faculty and guide learners in achieving outstanding learning outcomes.

July 21 : “Assessment that Serves the Learning Community”

In this session, we will review exemplar assessment plans and the outcomes they achieve. We will look at online assignment samples to consider ideas for developing assessments that are manageable for faculty and support learners in producing measurable evidence of learning.

The following panelists were invited to share on “Challenges of Designing Curriculum and Educational Assessment for Online Education” :

Dr. Justitia Dei Vox Hattu, Head of Master Programs, Jakarta Theological Seminary

Dr. Nant Tin Tin Win, Head of Christian Education Department, Myanmar Institute of Theology

Breakout sessions will be held in the afternoon of July 20 for the participants to discuss “Developing Rubrics for Assessing Online Education.”
