Faculty revisit assessment tools for online modalities
In view of the current challenges, ATESEA conducted this year’s Annual Teachers’ Academy online on 20-21 July 2021 for the continual professional enrichment of the lecturers. One hundred ninety-three (193) participants from fifty-seven (57) member schools participated in the said online conference which focused on curriculum design, educational evaluation including rubrics design for online modalities.
Ms. Gloria Doherty, Director of Digital Learning from George Fox University, Portland Seminary, was invited to be the guest lecturer for the following topics:
- “Program and Course Design for Learner Success”
- “Assessment that Serves the Learning Community”
The following panelists shared the “Challenges of Designing Curriculum and Educational
Assessment for Online Education” they experience in their respective contexts:
- Dr. Justixia Vox Dei Haitu, Head of Master Program and Coordinator of Christian Education, Jakarta Theological Seminary, Indonesia
- Dr. Tin Tin Win, Associate Professor and Head of Christian Education Department, Myanmar Institute of Theology
During the break out session in the afternoon, the participants presented the rubrics they use in their respective academic courses. It was a period of learning with the exchange of ideas and best practices as to how each has adapted their curriculum in facing the current global crisis.
