ATESEA and FTESEA Boards with MLIS students

Leaders of the Foundation for Theological Education in South East Asia (FTESEA) joined the ATESEA Board meeting in Central Philippine University, Iloilo, Philippines on March 29, 2019. Dr. Jeffrey Kuan, FTESEA Chairperson, Dr. Dorcas Gordon, FTESEA Vice Chairperson, and Dr. H.S. Wilson, FTESEA Executive Director, expressed their continued active support for the programs of ATESEA.

They encouraged the partnership and collaboration among theological institutions and organizations towards innovative and transformative theological education in the region. Furthermore, they pointed out the current priorities of FTESEA which include faculty development and contextualization, women leadership, and sharing of library resources and networking.

The group had an opportunity to meet the twelve (12) scholars of the Master in Library and Information Science with Specialization in Theological Librarianship (MLIS-TL) and their mentor-faculty. This is the second batch of students enrolled in the said degree program.  The MLIS-TL is one of the scholarship programs of ATESEA supported by FTESEA.

Prior to the ATESEA Board meeting, the School of Graduate Studies of Central Philippine University invited Dr. Gordon and Dr. Kuan to speak to the students of Doctor of Management and Doctor of Education programs on the topic, “Institutional and Academic Leadership” on March 28 from 5:30-7:30 pm at the university.

The next Board meeting was set on December 18-20, 2019 at Myanmar Institute of Theology, Yangon, Myanmar.
